Job Description:
Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company’s business operations.
Assists with testing and development of all payroll related software.
Receives and responds to various assignments to aid in the payroll services for all Shaner entities.
May also assist with processing tax validations and payments, as well as processing garnishments.
Must have excellent time management and organizational skills to keep up with the fast-paced Payroll Department.
Supports all payroll processing and related activities.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Associate has responsibility for processing payroll and tax data for Shaner employees, new hires, and client organizations.
Verifies critical data such as address changes, tax status, pay increases, and terminations in the payroll system(s) to note changes in the employee records.
Maintain current knowledge of a wide variety of applicable multi-state and federal tax and wage laws pertaining to Shaner Operating Corp business locations.
Superior understanding of all aspects of payroll processing and relevant best practices.
Experience in payroll taxes and wage garnishments preferred.
Assists in all current payroll procedures
Excellent interpersonal, organizational communication skills.
Be familiar with Payroll systems: Oracle Fusion, ADP, and Kronos, along with excellent computer skills in Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook email.
Minimum two years progressive related work experience in payroll / accounting.
An Associates degree in Business / Accounting is a plus.
Customer-service orientation with the ability to collaborate in a consistently positive fashion with diverse personalities both in the field and on the team.
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
