Responsibilities: - Maintain and balance general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secure financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
Experience: - Proven bookkeeping experience.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software (e.
g.
, Xero).
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
