NEW pair of LL Bean women's "Storm Chaser" shoes in leather and rubber - circa 2005 - with original box.
The shoes are a US women's size 8 medium - I don't know what that size corresponds to in other countries, but that should be information that is readily obtainable.
They are about ankle-height, taller than a conventional active shoe but shorter than most boots.
The shoes are lace-up with four pairs of metal eyelets on each shoe.
The included laces are brown and black and also NEW, about 44" long apiece with some elasticity to them.
Uppers are mostly light brown leather (small area of black leather near the ankles) with tan stitched accents and a loop at the back of each shoe; part of the tongues are light brown leather as well.
The remainder of the tongues are black synthetic material, as are the insides and insoles.
Outsoles of mostly black rubber extend up onto the toes and part of the sides in a familiar "duck shoe" style.
Bottom outsoles are knobby for outdoor use, but beyond that are considered flat with little to no extra heel height.
These shoes were manufactured in China and - at least at the time - carried LL Bean stock #0-VV97-04.
The shoes come in their original box, and though the shoes themselves are NEW, the packaging has some minor defects which will be described below.
Included in the box is a small card with the famous LL Bean guarantee and a word about the leather used in construction of the shoes.
No other product literature or documentation is included (if any was even originally provided).
A label on the box suggests that these were manufactured, purchased, and/or shipped in early December 2005.
These were originally purchased by a family member directly from LL Bean for personal use.
They were subsequently turned over to me in unused condition during a home downsizing.
They don't fit anyone in our home, nor any other immediate family members or friends.
Therefore, we have no use for these, and offer them up here.
Unfortunately, these are well out of production (although other versions of the "Storm Chaser" shoe still live on at LL Bean), and therefore I was unable to find more detailed information regarding features and benefits, beyond what I can visually verify.
Please feel free to use the stock number and any other information included here to do your own research before bidding, if desired.
The shoes and laces themselves are in BRAND NEW, excellent condition both cosmetically and functionally - having been received directly from the retailer, and never subsequently used.
There is no wear on the bottoms of the rubber outsoles, which are attached firmly to the rest of the shoes.
The back loops are likewise attached firmly.
Metal eyelets are also attached firmly, with no excessive wear or corrosion.
Stitching is strong, with no fraying or loose sections.
There is no excessive wear, significant scratching, or gouging of the leather.
The leather does have some markings either from normal shipping and storage, or the manufacturing process (according to LL Bean: "[Leather] may contain scratches, brands, scars, and color variations.
These are not flaws.

").
Insides of the shoes are likewise in excellent shape, with no rips, tears, or insole wear.
Laces are new and included in each shoe, with no fraying or worn ends.
Nothing has any staining or moisture damage.
On the other hand, the original box has some defects.
There are some dings and wear, particularly at the edges and corners.
An inventory or sales label is attached to the top of the box.
At one time, the box was held close with tape at the front bottom edge; some of this tape remains, and there is some missing paper on the bottom of the box from where this was peeled away.
Overall, it's visibly banged up a bit, but not a whole lot worse than any shoe box you would find in a shoe store.
The original guarantee card is mostly crisp, with some corner dings.
These packaging defects are cosmetic in nature only, and do not affect the cosmetic or functional condition of the shoes inside.
Again, the shoes do not come with any accompanying instructions and/or documentation, other than the guarantee card (if any was even originally provided).
Please view all pictures to get a better sense of the condition of everything.
