Job Summary: Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work in a collaborative, interactive, agile engineering development environment.
The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical coordination for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, participating in the developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
Also provides technical coordination and clarification of requirements to software development and test team personnel.
In addition, analyzes user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Similarly, analyzes system requirements and participates in design and development activities.
The Senior Systems Engineer helps guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and participates in feasibility studies.
The position is onsite in State College, PA.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
Incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing technical operations.
Develops technical documentation and develops system architecture and system design documentation.
Supports interaction with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
Takes responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior program personnel Supports development, interfaces with personnel from other organizations, and helps represent the program at technical interchange meetings.
Participates in daily program scrum meetings and provide status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks, capabilities, and user stories as applicable.
Participate in an Integrated Product Team to assist in the design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations Basic Qualifications (Required): Active TS/SCI security clearance with full scope polygraph Requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 14 years of prior relevant Systems Engineering experience, OR an Advanced engineering degree and 9 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and experience working in the full Systems engineering lifecycle Involvement with requirement creation as well as decomposition Involvement with development of system design solutions that satisfy the system requirements and fulfill the functional analysis Knowledge and experience working in the Software Development lifecycle utilizing development models such as Waterfall and Agile Has worked in an Agile engineering software development environment Has work with test teams for system and component requirement verification Preferred Qualifications: Developed interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected components and systems throughout the life cycle Work with team (s) to plan and test DOD certification/ accreditation processes as well as other Certification and Accreditation processes.
