JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Admissions at Penn State Law in University Park, PA is seeking a part-time J.
D.
application reviewer.
The ideal candidate would be able to devote 8-10 hours a week (working from home) with a goal of reviewing 25-30 files.
Training will be provided.
Responsibilities will include: Reviewing and making recommendations on admissions applications to the J.
D.
program; Using holistic evaluation methods to make a comprehensive assessment of each candidate; Understanding institutional objectives and making recommendations in support of such; Providing feedback on relevant aspects of application; Keeping accurate notes and file management in application management database; Remaining up-to-date on file load and decision recommendations; Participate in weekly Admissions Office meetings; Other duties as required.
Qualifications include: Experience reviewing admissions applications and making recommendations or rendering decisions; Thorough knowledge of admissions best practices; Excellent judgment, discretion, organization, time-management and communication skills; Commitment to supporting the diversity of the law school student body; Excellent critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.
Prior admissions and application review experience at the law school or graduate level is preferred, but not required.

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS: Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
