PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION:
The purpose of a Concierge/Hospitality aide is to assist the nursing staff, but more improve fulfillment of non-clinical requests.
This position will allow nursing staff to better provide personal care.
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY As a Hospitality Aide, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS STATEMENT The purpose of a Concierge/Hospitality aide is to assist the nursing staff, but more improve fulfillment of non-clinical requests.
This position will allow nursing staff to better provide personal care.
Concierge/Hospitality aide will assist nursing staff in providing quality care for all residents.
This aide will be personable, friendly and caring.
Must possess exceptional communication and ability to take direction.
Have the ability to interact with the elderly, family members and visitors in a positive manner.
Adjust to changes in schedule and duties as dictated by facility needs.
Reports directly to DON, ADON, but will be directed by nurses as well If available, participate in daily Nursing reports Pass ice/ fresh water to all resident rooms Place fresh linens as needed or make beds when Residents are out of bed, place call cord on bed Tidy room, hang clothing, ensure room is neat and presentable Transport Residents to and from dining room/ Common areas Take menu orders Answer call lights- providing (no hands on care) Attending to miscellaneous requests Pass room trays Prepare tray, cut food, butter bread, etc.
Serve drinks and pass trays in the dining room Transport to and from Activities Monitor residents in smoking lounge at designated times Assist clearing dining room tables Pass fresh water/juice to rooms, encourage hydration Assist STNA’s/Nurses providing snacks, hydration Report and communicate to nursing staff changes and or problems Admission Likes and dislikes form New admission Inventory list Vigilant to safety issues at all times Paperwork, audits and marking of Personals Other duties both in and outside of Facility as directed Personnel Functions Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Director of Food Services.
Staff Development Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc.

Attend and participate in annual HazCom, bloodborne pathogens, and TB in-service training programs.
Resident Rights Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
Ensure that you treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy.
Knock before entering the resident’s room.
Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
Honor the resident’s refusal of treatment request.
Report such requests to your supervisor.
Specific Requirements Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices) Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to cope wit the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
I understand this position is a non-clinical/non-nursing position and agree I will not feed, physically transfer, turn, roll, and toilet or lift a Resident.
