JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Student Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant to provide primary administrative support for the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs ( A VPSA ), the Director for Commonwealth C ampus S upport , and the student-led Commonwealth Fee Board .
Student Affairs facilitates holistic student success for all students through purposeful advocacy, education, engagement, and support.
Th is position’s scope and nature require a commitment to inclusive excellence and student success , the capacity to manage a wide variety of administrative functions, flexibility, and the ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality.
The successful candidate will be a team-oriented professional who has demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment where needs and priorities evolve regularly.
Primary responsibilities of this position include: M anag ing calendars and scheduling meetings Collaborati ng with administrative support staff within the VPSA office and Student Affairs Assist ing with the p reparation of materials for meetings, presentations , and reports Greet ing visitors, screen ing phone calls to determin e appropriate action , providing information , and making appropriate referrals Coordinat ing and support ing committee and task group meetings Assist ing in providing oversight for various budgets and expenditures, reviewing, and approv ing financial transactions Collecting and dissem inating information among various groups Serving as Workday timekeeper for Student Affairs staff Assisting with special projects as requested Supporting a team environment by providing back-up for the other administrative assistant and executive assistant as needed Education and experience: Typically requires a n Associate’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Office 365 is required , and experience with finance, human resource management , and student information systems ( E.
g.
WorkDay , SIMBA, SAP Concur, LionPath , etc.
) is preferred.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills , leadership, and organizational skills.
Ideal candidates will have outstanding problem-solving skills, initiative, teamwork, and team-building abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate sound judgment.
This is a n on- exempt position with th e opportunity for a hybrid schedule that meets office coverage needs .
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work.
