JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of the Liberal Arts is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Department of History , Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies , Jewish Studies Program , and Latina/o Studies Program .
The Administrative Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for, and provide excellent customer service to, the students, faculty, staff, and others visiting our Departments and Programs.
Key Responsibilities :
Respond to in-person and email inquiries to the Departments and Programs
Answer and direct telephone calls; provide information or refer as appropriate
Distribute, screen, review, and process all mail communications
Order office supplies and maintain inventory and office equipment
Maintain directories, databases, and bulletin boards
Schedule conference room and classroom space
Assist faculty with incoming speaker and lecturer events: help with advertising, arrange catering or meal reservations, and complete visitor forms
Act as key/access and CCure (Penn State's primary electronic security system software) Access Coordinator
Reconcile reimbursement forms with the Financial Office
Serve as back-up to the Undergraduate Support Assistant, when needed, and provide support on events and various special projects

Education and Experience:
This position typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
